Gentle Sam was adopted on Sunday by a very nice family from County Antrim.
He was excellent on the 5 hour ride home, and is settling into his new life beautifully.
Here are two photos from his first day of the rest of his life!
Snoozing in the sunshine.
Sam is recovering from a case of mange, and so the Vitamin D he gets from direct sunlight is excellent for his skin and coat.

Out walking with Hope and Scott. Sam is so quiet on the leash even children can walk him.

Poor Sam, who just turned 3 in November 2007, was found wandering in a town and in very poor condition.
He was kept at a vet's for 5 days and then went to another rescue.
Not doing well in kennels, he was handed over to OGS in early January 2008 and has been a quiet soul who has enjoyed
having a soft bed, friendly companions, and quiet surroundings.
He is a medium-sized gentleman and gets along with all the dogs here.
He and Dora arrived within a few days of each other and both have blended into the household as if they have always been here.
More photos as this gentle boy improves.
Sam has gained all his weight back and now only needs to finish growing in a new coat.

Sam grows more and more robust every day, as evidenced by him enjoying being outside, even without a coat!

his first night here, Sam slept with a warm coat on, and decided to snuggle up to 90 pound Brus, who enjoyed the company.

Sam has so far been a quiet boy here, enjoying his comforts and needing plenty of sleep.

Sam was found with a well-along case of mange and seemed to have been living with long term neglect.
