Tom
Tom has found his family in Northern Ireland, where he has settled in very well with his people and spends nights in front of the fire.
Tom is a medium sized five year old greyhound.
Sometime between being owned by a syndicate and arriving here, he was living in fairly rough conditions from which he and several other dogs had to be removed.
This is a dog who knows he is lucky, and appreciates any scrap of attention he might receive.
Tom is unusually affectionate and devoted, perhaps a reflection of recent times.
He gets along with all other dogs here, is extremely biddable, and particularly intelligent.
Great in the car and good on the leash, Tom also can be let loose in large fields or narrow lanes without any worry of him running off.
As a dog who clearly has been repeatedly hit, all he wants now is for people to treat him kindly and fairly, and he will reward you with the sort of devotion greyhounds are known for.
Somehow I think of him as an old soldier who has been through a lot and now needs to see better days.
