Phoenix

Phoenix - this poor little man will be 4 later this year. He was surrendered to a county pound with a coat on, and when it was removed, the pound manager was alarmed and asked OGS to take him right away. He arrived emaciated, dehydrated, confused, very wobbly, significant hair loss, a swollen ankle, and nails so long he could not walk properly. The first 5 days, all he could do was sleep. Phoenix has improved very quickly now and is quite alert and friendly, getting along with all the other dogs here.....even sneaking into the adjoining field (and then the house) with a different group of dogs and having no problems with them whatsoever! They simply accepted him and he them. This lovely, cheerful, affectionate and intelligent boy is going to be quite handsome soon, and deserves a chance to be loved and well cared for in a responsible home environment. The later photos are taken with double coating on as it was so cold outside, I hesitated removing his coat and making him cold.

Phoenix was visited on several occasions by his new owner who travelled from Sweden in order to adopt one of the Orchard Greyhound Sanctuary dogs.
He has now gone to live with his new mum in Sweden who runs a doggy daycare.
