Pace

A quiet, humble and undemanding gentleman, Pace was recently picked up as a stray and brought to a county pound. He was extremely underweight and so markedly dehydrated that there were folds of skin which simply would not spring back. His coat was so filthy that it was almost grey in places and he smelled strongly of urine. His skin was very irritated and red and there was little hair on his legs and undercarriage. Pace also had large scabs on his nose which are consistent with constantly wearing a muzzle. Exhausted from what was no doubt a long period of minimum care or benign neglect, Pace slept almost 24 hours a day when he first arrived. Double coated in the house and triple coated for very brief outside walks, Pace has proven to be absolutely perfect in the house in regard to toileting. He also sleeps quietly through the night and gets along just beautifully with the other dogs. A tall and well built greyhound when he is completely recovered, Pace is an absolute prince and will be magnificent when he gains back his weight and all his hair has grown in. Pace is simply one-in-a-million.

Dailtin was assigned hostess duties and was happy to work away on her chewie
while Pace was not quite sure what to do with his

Pace shortly after arrival at a county pound.

There's nothing like a nice snooze with friends after a brisk walk in the snow!

Licking his chops after a warm meal, it's easy to see Pace has gained weight steadily. He still has a bit more to go, however, and we are also working on getting that coat more white as well as adding supplements to his food to encourage hair growth on his legs.
