Arrian
Named after the Greek historian who wrote an interesting treatise on greyhounds around 100AD, Arrian has the tattooed ears to prove he is a full greyhound, though some people are beginning to think he is part giraffe.
Certainly the tallest greyhound ever to be here, Arrian is about 30 inches high at the top of the back, and his father's racing weight was 93 pounds!
But Arrian is only a youngster, about 16 months old, and had a less-than-perfect start in life.
Needing confidence in himself and people, Arrian is shy around most people, though improving day by day.
He gives the impression of never having been around people much, and likes to follow people here around and just WATCH them as they do things, from pouring water into a bucket to making a phone call to tying shoelaces.
He has gained in confidence with other dogs here, and even loves to take on the resident wolfhound for a great chase, though the other day I caught him gently licking rainwater off the back of one of the smaller dogs.
A handsome boy with excellent potential
Arrian has no problems at all giving wolfhound Ceol a run for her money! She LOVES it!
