Ailish
Ailish - darling little Ailish, who will be 4 in late November, was found wandering in extremely poor condition in July 2009. Nearly emaciated, with extensive mange, open sores and more, this shy little one clearly had also been roughly handled, and slowly learned to love being called and petted and hand fed some treats. A dog who clearly had to protect herself at some point in the past, she arrived here quite defensive and had a surprisingly deep and savage growl for any dog approaching her the "wrong" way, especially if she was lying down. She quickly learned that the dogs here meant no harm, and now has joined the "house group" and runs and plays with them.
Ailish quickly gained weight and strength, and has blossomed into a cheeky little madam who loves to boss everyone around! Absolutely unaware of her size - she is a smaller greyhound - she is completely fearless around other dogs and just loves people. She is excellent in the car and on the leash, very well behaved in the house and undemanding but affectionate. Biddable and quite clever, she loves to play and carry things around the property and the house, though she is not at all a chewer.
